  • Spilled beverages shouldn’t be a headache. Gear up with a bottle of vinegar and you’re ready to treat a coffee blotch. Mix an equal amount of white vinegar and water and pat the stain using a clean cloth.
  • Dark stains on carpets can be removed with a concoction of ½ cup white vinegar mixed with 2 tablespoons salt and 2 tablespoons borax. Dab the solution on the stain. Let it dry and vacuum it.

3. Corn starch and milk 

  • A broken marker with spilled ink? Get a concoction of corn starch and milk. Apply it on the ink spot and let it dry for some hours. Then brush off the dried paste and vacuum.
  • Corn starch also works great against greasy and oily spots.

4. Hydrogen Peroxide: The magical carpet cleaning agent

  • A deep, tough carpet stain can be removed using Hydrogen Peroxide. Make a concoction of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide and gel-free toothpaste. Apply it to the stain and rinse it. If any residue is still left, repeat the treatment.
